Adding new menu items and pages

I don't think that's exactly what I'm looking for. I was hoping there was a way to create a menu item in the admin area, and a public page of the web site would be created as well, without having to first create a new page from a template and insert the content area. The method on the tutorial works great for blogs and article pages, but I was hoping to find something that would just create a new page unto itself. Thanks!
