Submit checkout form to paypal ECO only if specific button is pressed (Ecart6)

I am setting up my cart so that I can give the user the choice of using one of 2 payment gateways.
I set the cart up using the wizard to use Paypal ECO by default.
I have this working to the point that I am redirected to the paypal payment page with my cart credentials, when I press submit.
I now want to add a second button to the checkout page, so the user can pay by BACS via GoGardless API.
I have the API credentials working okay, so now I want to pass the form parameters when I click the BACS submit button.

At the moment, if I submit the form, I am redirected to paypal whichever button I press.

The submit button to connect to paypal is called 'CheckoutWizard_submit', i have tried checking areas of code in the required pages for post rather than specific button press, but I seem to be redirected to paypal on both or neither button, depending on what I edit

I only want to be redirected to paypal when I submit the paypal button
