Getting ProductPrice To Accept Decimals In DataAssist

The issue I'm having is most likely user error, so please have mercy on me as I explain.

I have been searching for the answer to this, but have not found anything that helps me. I would think I should be able to specify decimals when I'm setting up the pages in DataAssist, and I've tried by specifying the min/max characters as well as the min/max number under Validations in the Form Validation and Field Settings while using Currency as the type, but when I try to submit the price in the _insert.php page while in the browser, it tells me I need to "Please enter a value."

However, if I simply put a whole number in, it is accepted and shows 2 decimal places (ex. 59.00) in the results. I need it to show $59.99.

Please steer me in the right direction to solve this.

Thanks.
