hide dropdown if empty

I am using older versions WebAssist software along with ASP Hopefully, this is a general enough question that you will still be willing to answer it: two dynamicaly populated dropdowns on form; 2nd dropdown is populated based on selection in first dropdown. Initially, the 2nd dropdown was always supposed to have at least one or two options to choose from, but now it may not - so it could be an empty recordset. Right now, if dropdown 2 is empty, it shows an empty dropdown box. I would like the dropdown box to not show up at all, if empty. I use a show/hide layer condition to hide the 2nd dropdown initially, but that doesn't help in this situation. I have attached a copy of the code. The two dropdowns are immediately after the text "use my gift for: ." Thank you!
