Edit record form deleting text after server updated to PHP 5.4.5

The CMS on one of my sites was working fine. Then my hosting provider updated PHP from version 5.2.17 to version 5.4.5, then problem started. When selecting edit record from the record details screen, all of the data in 2 or 3 of the 8 HTML editor panels disappeared.
If I then cancel the edit and go back to display the record, the data is still there. If I click update, the display record screen reappears but the data which was not showing in the 2 or 3 panels for the HTML editor has disappeared from the record.
When testing on my local computer (Mac running MAMP with PHP 5.2.16), everything is OK.
When uploading to my server, (Linux with PHP 5.4.5), this problem arises.
I have subsequently updated databridge to the latest update (1.1.0) then created new versions of the offending files, but still the same result.
I also have a site on another server running PHP 5.2.17, and the problem has not arisen as yet. When this provider does eventually upgrade PHP, I suspect I will have the same problem with other sites.
Is there an update for this problem?
