Side Menu on Content Admin page

I have just updated to the latest PS4.5.3 and I have a new problem. when i am logged into my admin account and go to the content management page, the page looks fine BUT when I click on any of the choices in the side menu (for example if I want to see my shipping page) I click on it and nothing happens. If I try to create a page I get the little box to fill out and I can enter the info but when I click on "add" to add the page, Nothing happens. I have tried 3 different browsers and they all have the same issue.
I am able to edit any of these pages by getting to them through my actual storefront while being logged in. It is just the side menu does nothing and when I try to add or delete pages the buttons in the pop up do nothing.

Added later:
The problem is not as isolated as I thought. I cannot add or delete a gallery. Also, I can get an edit page for a gallery but when I try to add an image, When I click add images "Single Image Upload" or "Server Upload" I get nothing.

Also affected: the product charts on the dashboard page and when requested. blank area with no chart.

I'm sure it's something small but I just don't have a clue?? Help?

thanks for helping,
Nancy
