Dreamweaver - Retaining link colours on different coloured links

My daughter wants her main titles/headings on her web page in different colours - but to have links to go to another page when the visitor hovers over the appropriate word - hence the underline in my code so far. I know all about

<style type="text/css">
<!--
a:link {text-decoration: none}
a:visited {text-decoration: none}
a:active {text-decoration: none}
a:hover {text-decoration: underline}
-->
</style>

to remove the underline etc, and I know I can fix the colour in the same area - but we want to keep the link names with their own individual colours, not all fixed to one "link" colour for the whole page.
Any clues on how this is done - or can it even be done?
