A bit confused about checkout

Thanks for your reply Jason

At the moment im stuck to PayPal Express or Standard :-(

So I imagined to do it the following way:

- customer adds items to cart
- to be able to checkout the customer has to be logged in
- checkout adds order and detail to database
- then goes directly to PayPal (as customer Infos are allready available)
- customer cancels on PayPal and gets returned to a payment canceled page which updates the order status to cancelled by user
- customer pays and gets redirected to success page
- IPN updates order status if successfull payment and sends a notification mail to customer

You think this is ok or do I need to pay attention to something else?
