Dynamic Text Links with show if

I want this menu to display the links ONLY if the member has a posting in the corresponding table. ie

directory_detail_public3.php?id=2295
ID 2295 currently has news and photos nothing else

directory_detail_public3.php?id=226
ID 226 has Ads, Coupons, Events and News & Photos

I have attached a version of this page where I attempted to apply a show if based on the recordset which I created for the corresponding table.
