Power CMS editor adds <p> tags

Power CMS editor adds <p> tags

I couldn't find anything through a search regarding this so forgive me if this is an old issue.

I have several regions on pages where the editable parts are within styled tags so that only the text is what a client can change (they could further add styles through the CMS editor of course if they want).

What is happening is that there will be a region in the CMS with say exactly this line:
This is content.

In the source code there is only this:
This is content.

And in the database there is only this:
This is content.

Now if I edit this using the CMS to say this:
This is new content.

It appears fine in the CMS view but in the CMS editor source view it shows this:
<p>
This is new content.</p>

And of course I have CSS styles for my <p> tags so this screws up my clients pages every time they edit them and the only way I can fix it is to go into the database and remove the <p> tags CMS is creating.

I have not updated my Extension since Design Extender came out so don't know if this was a resolved issue or just a fluke on my end or something that only I have come across. How can I fix this?

Thanks in advance.
