Insert Record/ set session variable question

Unsing current SuperSuite and DW CS6

I need to set a session variable when I insert a record into my database so that I can query the table for that record on the subsequent page and set image id's to the session variable. When I try to use the DataBridge Insert utility I can see that it gives me an option to set the variable, but it doesn't give me the option to tell it what the key column is (which is suggested in the help file).

Am I missing something here - how do I pass the key column id as a session variable when inserting the record?
