Help with search criteria and DataAssist Search

Hi everyone,

I'm struggling with some search criteria. I've done this before but I seem to be stumped right now.

I have a page with two fields in a form i.e. "Search" and "category2". Category2 field is a list field. So they choose a category from a drop down list (category2 field) and type in their criteria keyword in the "Search" field and submit the search. I want the value in "Search" to be checked in a few table columns and for the value selected in category2 to be exactly what the search might find in my category2 table column.

Right now... choosing something from the dropdown and hitting submit brings back values from category2... but if I also enter anything in the "search" field it brings back everything. Thoughts?

Please check out the attachment. Let me know if you need anything else from me to help. Thanks so much.
