Testing Server

I am setting up site definitions in DW.
When I come to the Testing Server setup the url prefix defaults to localhost/

If I open the index.php page then xampp/ is opened

If in the Testing Server url prefix I use mydomain I get the error below showing but the site opens correctly on my local testing server

Error Message
The site url prefix [/mydomain] for the testing server does not match the site url prefix specified for the HTTP Address for the site.13:44 22/12/2011
This may cause pages using site relative links to display incorrectly at runtime

The HTTP Address is set to mydomain.com

Can anyone clarify this please?

Thank you

John
