Images are not uploading.

Image upload was working fine yesterday but today it doesn't want to work.
I choose a .png from my local drive and then click upload to the directory backgrounds and a message flashes at the bottom of the file manager window for about 2 seconds that says: sending request to www.wheezingeezer.com then nothing happens. The file does not show in the bottom window pane either.
PS 4.5 Image size 187kb - 765px x 765px. filename: homemark1.png
Just doesn't make sense.
Does anyone reading this know how to quickly solve this problem at 2am CST? :-(

Other sections of PS 4.5 Such as adding product pictures from the Products tab aand adding pictures through the Content tab also works. Clicking the Design Tab and trying to change the background image is when I have the problem.

Thank you
