It is an issue to me!
I'm in the process of redesigning a site that has many thousands of images already, created using the old Interakt extensions. The previous thumbnails have suffixes attached to the filename which isn't consistent with using the web assist UE file upload extension (to simultaneously create 2 thumnails in different folders), so I was looking for a way to recreate the thumbnails in a way that would enable a user to delete the main file and 2 thumbnails when a page was deleted. The existing thumbnails folder could then be deleted, with new thumbnails created using Image Resizer, stored in the same folders as those uploaded with UE.
For example:
UE image upload to upimages/PageMainPics (resized to 800x600)
Thumbnail 1 to upimages/PageMainPics/thumbs300 (resized to 300 x 200)
Thumbnail 2 to upimages/PageMainPics/thumbs300 (resized to 150 x 120)
How am I meant to delete images from the server if they're all in peculiarly named subfolders?
What's the point in having the option of naming where you want to store the thumbnails if they aren't actually stored in that locastion? This was a feature that attracted me to the extension in the first place!
The tutorial (image-resizer_gsg.php) certainly suggest that the folder you choose is where the thumbnail will be stored:
"Cache folder: This is the directory on your server where your new image files will be stored. If this directory does not exist when the Image Resizer functionality is applied, it will create the folder for you (as long as your server's permission allow for folder creation)."
The graphic used on the extension page clearly says "Select the folder where you would like to use to store the resized image files"
If the extension doesn't work in the way advertised, could you please arrange a refund. I'd much prefer it, of course, if it could be made to work the way it should!
