Feature requests - image resizer
I've just tried out Image Resizer. I used it on a dynamic page where it worked without any problems and was easy to use. When I specified the image folder I assumed that each image would simply be put there, not renamed and places in a new, unique folder. I typically test for the existence of a thumbnail (to add the required links etc.) and this approach would make this awkward. I also want to give users the option to upload their own thumbnails which would be too complicated with the folder structure the extension creates.
Commenting out a couple of lines in CachedResize_Image.php and adding a new one seeems to have fixed this issue. I think it would be an improvement to add a couple of checkboxes: 'Rename files' and 'Create unique folders' or something similar which could be cleared to achieve this - which I think would be more useful and simpler in many/most situations.
The other problem which has been mentioned is the poor quality of the the thumbnails. Making the jpeg quality definable would scarcely help - there is very little difference between 75 and 100%. Typically thumbnails look blurry unless they are sharpened, particularly if there is a lot of detail. I've added some code for this too. Again, it would be useful to have this as an option at least - then the extension would actually be useful/usable (from my point of view anyway).
