eCart updatable checkboxes

Help please
I thought it was going to be simple or I just dont get it
Read the contents of the help button on the checkbox dialogue window. Confused, Searched the forum, nope!
I have multiple items to choose from with a price, description etc.
I want to pass on the itemID (from my database table) with the checkbox to the shopping cart.
For the life of me I cant see how to link the "checked" checkout box to the Add to Cart.
I dont understand the Checkbox dialogue box. The checked value should be ItemID=1 in the sample (see screen shot of simple sample items) I have tried many variations, but I am shooting in the dark.
I still dont know how to pass the checked box data to the cart.
I'm sure it is easy BUT!!!
thanks in advance
David
