As a MAC address can be changed, it can be unwise to rely on this as a single method of authentication. IEEE 802.1x is an emerging standard better suited to authenticating devices at a low level.
However, I don't change anything. I just open and close Dreamweaver. And when connected I can run WA progs - but when off-line, I can't run them! Very frustrating.
I don't have any issues like this with Adobe progs that rely on a serial / activation number. It's only WA.
As I say, learn to live with it (even the sinking feeling you get when about to employ a WA prog knowing you'll have to be permenently connected to make them work).
Maybe it's a UK issue that doesn't crop up in the USA.
