Validating against a specific value (server side) from a drop-down list

Hi,

I have a list of store names in a drop-down list on a web form. The store names are pulled from a recordset with an initial static label of "please choose a store" and a value of 0 being selected in the drop-down list box. I've applied spry validation to check that the user chooses a store, (with 0 being listed as the invalid value in the properties for the spry control), which if they move onto the field and then tab off it, works. However, if they never click on the drop-down list then the form allows itself to be submitted.

I'm not sure how to get around this problem. Any suggestions welcom
