How do I create a double opt-in?

Thread began 6/27/2010 1:53 pm by mrs | Last modified 7/24/2013 12:26 pm by mrs | 7345 views | 28 replies

When using the double opt-in, does the user must use the same browser to update the emailVarified value or it does not matter what browser the user uses to open the confirm page?

I was testing the double opt yesterday and everything was working fine; so I thought. This morning I decided to test it with Internet Explorer. All the information is inserted in the database as it should be. My email links in my outlook in box are open by default in firefox.

When using explorer the information is inserted in my database table but the value for the emailVarified column does not get updated when I click on my email message. I am able to go to the userConfirm page but the value does not get updated. On the browser address I can see the user ID and the randomSting value.

The only way that I can it make work is to delete the previous user entered and reenter it again. Open my email message copy the link (instead of clicking on it) and paste the link in explorer.

On the confirm page I am using for the Record value <?php echo $_SESSION['users_userID']; ?>
