Local Success vs. Remote Hot Wet Mess

Local Success vs. Remote Hot Wet Mess

Using the latest build from Ray I've been able to successfully set up a Local testing scenario every time. I decided it was time to give this a try on the Remote server using a Site Sculptor-generated page before I even mention CMS possibilities to a client.

After discovering that my hosting provider doesn't support remote database connections, I found the “Exporting Locally Created Database to Remote Hosting Server” thread in the eCart forum and followed Jason's instructions. My hosting provider supplies the php code to replace the PowerCMS Builder generated code in the connection file, so I did that. In addition, I imported my database to the remote server. Finally, uploaded all the files to the server and all seemed to go smoothly... until I went to the designated url and discovered this Hot Wet Mess index.php

The two-tone box thing is supposed to be the page containing four areas that should be customizable with PowerCMS. I'm not sure what the code above is doing besides taunting me while my hair goes thinner out of frustration. The other thing I'm still unsure about is whether or not I correctly inserted the Document Root that my hosting provider designated for me. When I copied the php code from the Developer's Notes section in the PowerCMS Admin page while in my local environment, I pasted it into place in the php page, replacing the Applications/MAMP/htdocs/PowerCMS directory. Was this the correct thing to do? I'm pretty green with this php stuff so I'm not sure how to troubleshoot any of this. Thanks.
