First try and it fails too
I am using dreamweaver cs5 and installed the CMS builder like it says and can see the menu item for selecting Add content to Power CMS. It is then suppose to ask me which database connection I want to use.....and so forth according to the instructions. Nothing happens. No code install on page, no asking questions, absolutely nothing. The only other thing I have installed on DW CS5 is that webassist is Site Sculpture but have not even used it yet. Wish there was better manuals for this stuff. At $249 I thought it might be the answer to providing CMS for some of my sites that are already built. I have been using snippetmaster but it lacks some features and can be confusing. Looking at this forum it does not look like there is a lot of support for this product and with only 15 days to get it to work it seems like a bad purchase. It makes me feel stupid since when you watch the video it looks easy.
Guess I should get a refund and look somewhere else for CMS.
I have tried most everything and I consider myself somewhat intelligent. I am retired from IBM and have been building website for many years. I do not like to program but am savvy enough to use most tools that provide all the coding so I do not have to build all the apps from scratch...this whole install is confusing and probable because it does not work. The more I play with it the more I realize that if you look at it wrong you could end up trashing your whole site and then you have a site you need to build over again and the client is pissed. Just need to figure out a better way to let my clients do minor updates to their sites... so far snippetmaster seems to work.
I have requested a refund...I am a bit frustrated because I wanted it to work.
