But if you change every instance of "rainbowcart" to rainbowcart2, you need to make sure that your add to cart pages are also adding to the rainbowcart2 page.

your confirm page has the following line of code:

if ($rainbowcart2->IsEmpty())     {
$rainbowcart2->redirStr "cartTest.php";
$rainbowcart2->cartAction "RedirectIfEmpty";

this redirecting to the cart test page becausae the cart is empty.

most likely the rainbowcart cart is the one the products are added to, not the rainbowcart2

  as the rainbowcart2 includes the paypal sandbox information?

the cart object does not contain any of the paypal code, that is contained in the local checkout server behavior. the server behavior sets the sandbox information and uses the cart object to pass the product info along.

revert back to the previous versions of the checkout and confirm pages that worked before.
