Problems with fonts on server

Captcha is working fine on localhost but on live server I am getting this error:

Warning: imagettfbbox() [function.imagettfbbox]: Invalid font filename in /var/www/clients/client4/web15/web/progress/webassist/captcha/wavt_captchasecurityimages.php on lines 125 136, 145

Line 125 of code is
$textbox = imagettfbbox($font_size, 0, $font, $captcha_string);

136 and 145 contain the same $font ref

and the font set at the bottom of page code is:

/*
Fonts/MACTYPE.TTF
Fonts/MODERNA_.TTF
Fonts/MOM_T___.TTF
Fonts/monofont.ttf
*/

what are the requirements on the server end for the captcha image to work? I suspect the dev server is not properly configured. Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
