Yes you could. Not sure what you are missing.

1) Click the lightning bolt
2) Find the recordset in the list of bindings
3) expand it and find the column you want to use

That should do it. What step number are you stuck at. You keep saying it isn't working but you aren't describing exactly what isn't working or what you are trying or where exactly you are stuck so it is difficult to guide you more. I don't know what you are missing, but it appears there is something you are missing.
