Your purchase of the Essential Suite has nothing to do with the library or it's cancellation. I understand that a 50% off sale can make people that paid full price feel buyers remorse, but unfortunately the only solution would be to never have sales. We actually tried that for 6 months this year and it hurt our bottom line. That is a completely separate discussion that doesn't really have anything to do with the library.
Your decision to purchase the library when you did really worked out for you. As a result you got a free upgrade to universal email and eCart that you will be able to keep. You got access to our entire product line for a year now, and now 100% of that money is being returned to you in a store credit or more than that value toward the purchase of super suite.
We do have an affiliate program through shareasale.com. You can sign up and actually get $$ whenever you get people to purchase, not just credit.
We have tried a number of channels for marketing, but most have cost more than they have brought in. Because we cater to the Dreamweaver user, there aren't many targeted markets we can advertise into, so we don't end up hitting many of our potential customers when advertising outside of our user base.
We couldn't agree more that getting new customers is much better than getting money from our existing customers. We offer affiliate programs and really the extension library was another attempt to make that possible... it just didn't pan out.
We've interviewed our customer base and many of them that are happy or ecstatic about our products feel that it is a competitive advantage to not talk about us to other developers that might purchase our tools and find the same success. The ones that feel happy to post on other forums and talk about their experience with us are the ones that are dissatisfied and want to get revenge by hurting our image, when in reality they are actually the minority.
