Jason,

i used the option accept paypal and credit cards to create the checkout...

yes so this explains why i was not asked for the api for the second payment gateway !!!!! so what you are saying is that in effect both the express checkout and the direct payment will both use the paypal API is this correct??... this explains everything thanks!!

but if i want to use the paypal direct payments you say i will need to use ssl.. but then this means that the checkout page will need to be sent to https !!!

so the flow mus ALWAYS BE as below!!!

CART.php (HTTP) -> CHECKOUT.php ( HTTPS)

QUESTION1: will the fact that the paypal express checkout button is on this page create any trouble for ssl https???

QUESTION2:
so the cart page therefore in the above case (as is now) directs payments to the checkout page which is only for PAYPAL!!!!

so once again what do you suggest I do in order to process other payment channels?? I can program but am not an expert at thaty level!! If I try to create a new checkout stream using the CREDIT CARDS using the wizard it will overwrite all the checkout pages that the Paypal Payments pro created..so this is why you say I will need to code everything myself.

can you give me some last advice :-)

thanx
Antonio
