Same troubles here - NOT HAPPY
I am writing this to let you know I have a store with around 1200 products with 16 categories and approximately 35 sub categories. Needless to say the site takes F O R E V E R when you click on products or categories.
Everything I read in these forums basically just says "that's how it is" or "just take out some categories or products".
Man that really goes against the notion of having an online store! I wonder how Amazon does it and gets everything to load so well? After all they have a few more than 1200 products. Granted, this was a fraction of the money they have into it and I get that but still.
It would be really great if you would either work diligently to remedy this enormous pitfall or at least specify in ALL your documentation VERY clearly that this ecommerce product is recommended for use in stores with less than 50 products or no more than 5 sub categories.
I am now in a bit of a situation with a client that has paid for a solution that is failing for their needs and I have no Idea what to do about it besides trash the hundreds of hours I have spent prepping the site and tucking my tail between my legs and asking my client to trash the weeks upon weeks they have spent entering items and descriptions along with photos etc. for all their products.
I really hope you guys have more to offer your customers who actually intended to use this products features the way the sales documentation presented to us that we could.
Please update the answer or solution to this initial post as the last thing I saw was from June. Jeesh!
