Eric,

I moved the code up as you indicated and it works great. It had to be after the recordset code but before the server side validation and add to cart code.

One thing to mention, the page prompted the following errors upon initial load (before any add to cart buttons were pressed, and consequently before the session variable DL_ATC_ID could be assigned a numeric value):

Notice: Undefined index: DL_ATC_ID in D:\Inetpub\hunterbooks\books\index.php on line 333
Notice: Undefined index: DL_ATC_ID in D:\Inetpub\hunterbooks\books\index.php on line 344

To avoid these errors I added a second server behavior (set session value if not defined) underneath the first one, so my code looks as follows:

<!-- SET SESSION VARIABLE DT_ATC_ID -->
<?php
if (!session_id()) session_start();
if($_SERVER["REQUEST_METHOD"] == "POST") {
$_SESSION["DL_ATC_ID"] = "".((isset($_POST["hbCart_1_ID_Add"]))?$_POST["hbCart_1_ID_Add"]:"") ."";
}
?>
<!-- DEFAULT SESSION VAR IF NOT DEFINED -->
<?php
if (!session_id()) session_start();
if(!isset($_SESSION["DL_ATC_ID"])) {
$_SESSION["DL_ATC_ID"] = "0";
}
?>
<!-- END SET SESSION VARIABLE DT_ATC_ID -->

And as long as my set session code was after the recordset definition code, but before the server validation and add to cart code, it works fine.

Eric - thanks for all your help on this topic and the many other topics you have help me with. Much appreciated.

D.
