Setting up a new database connection in Dreamweaver

Thread began 11/23/2009 7:36 pm by anikbrownmarketing393688 | Last modified 9/17/2013 4:53 pm by anikbrownmarketing393688 | 11082 views | 48 replies

Hi Blain,

In order to advise, we would need to know exactly what you are trying to do, and under what circumstances you are trying to do it.

There have been a couple of previous posters on the thread with slightly different problems (one using remote server, another using local testing server), so 'exact same' is a tad vague.

You are trying to set up a connection from within DreamWeaver, using Apache. I take it this is your local machine testing server, along with MySql and some MySql client (i.e. phpMyAdmin, mySql Workbench) and that your testing server is serving up php pages without any problems otherwise?

You were previously able to create a database connection and access your database from within Dreamweaver, but are now unable to?

Can you confirm this is the case, and say what operations you carried out in the interim between it 'working' and 'not working'.

When do you see an error message (and what is it)? What have you done to try to rectify the problem?
