Shipping not calculating properly

Thread began 6/16/2010 3:26 pm by chriscaldwell11357847 | Last modified 7/12/2010 3:29 pm by chriscaldwell11357847 | 2119 views | 19 replies

Thanks for the help, Eric. I am working on getting the dimensions from the client. but in the meantime, something odd has happened.

My shipping is supposed to be a Small Flat Rate box, which the USPS charges $4.95. I have noticed that when testing my site that shipping one item is suddenly $10.70.

When I checked on the USPS site, $10.70 is for a Medium Flat Rate box. I want a small flat rate box.

On the confirm page, when I access the shipping module in Dreamweaver, I find that the only options under package type are "Your Packaging", "Flat Rate Envelope", and "Flat Rate Box"; and under Package size, the only options are "Regular" and "Large". It seems USPS is now calculating "Regular" as a medium flat rate box, because they are quoting $10.70 and not $4.95 as set up originally.

How do I fix this? It was working fine for the past week. And suddenly its changed. Because it is the weekend, and we don't want to miss any sales, I had to fix it temporarily by changing it to a Large Flat Rate ENVELOPE. This at least calculates at 4.90 which is more reasonable. But we would be shipping in a small flat rate box, or in the case of multiple items, perhaps a medium or large box. But again, the only options are regular and large. and regular is calculating at 10.70.

Thank you.
