insert into two tables

mr hankey

i was just pointing out that i had given it a go myself trying to work it out and explained what i did that did not work, sorry i thought you put that on forums to explain what you tried rather than just asking for help.

issue i am having is this, i am inserting into my products table using data assist insert. i then create a second insert server behaviour and insert into payments table.

this is fine, however on my update products page i can update the product details (this is a page generated by data assist) however when i apply an update server behaviour on this page and create hidden form elements to get values from the update product form it creates a new entry in database rather than updating the existing row.

is it possibly that i need to join the recordset data assist created for my update page to my payments table, and if so how would i do this.

i tried doing this in the recordset:

FROM (products INNER JOIN clients ON products.clients_ClientID = clients.ClientID )INNER JOIN payments ON payments.ProductID= products.ProductID

anyone help with this?

thanks
