Thanks Jason for the help. I called First Data today and they said that there were several issues I needed to address on their end on the test cart: a temporary certification and their api download and I needed to add an SSL on my client site before it would process.

It would be helpful if you had specific instructions for adding each type of payment gateway you support into a separate tutorial. I think they would be short, but I had added the Store Number instead of the config file. I'm still not sure that the config file is the same as the First Data cert download. but I'll give it a try after we add the SSL.
