Unlike some I got lucky & saw the licensing & this thread first... and yeah, it's a deal killer. Here on my little island a lot of the sites I develop I only get $300-$400 for the whole site development -- can't add $79 or $99 (or $200 or $300 if I use more than one solution) per site & still keep the clients or make any money at all...
It's sad... it looks spiffy... guess I'm over to SiteGrinder or some other CMS solution <sigh> -- I'd love reasonable site license prices if WebAssist wants to go that way... Seems some sales would be better than no sales for them... at least those sales that they've lost from those of us who read the licensing, whether or not we write on the forum.
WebAssist actually does have reasonable multipack licensing for the PowerCMS2. I can attest to that as they have given me a very reasonable price for multi-license use which would still make the above mentioned example of 300-400 clients still profitable. You need to call their sales department or email them directly. The purpose of the new licensing was to thwart internet service providers from giving it away free to every sign up they had - which would hurt us developers far more. I don't think everyone is looking at this from all angles or even giving WebAssist a fair chance. You should call them first. If you are a legitimate developer with multi-license needs, they will work with you.
