The problem is that you cannot sell into the non developer market using the same license as to developers and this is creating a lot of concern and problems as can be seen by this and other threads.

Nicely put.

You market the Solution Packs as easy to use, no experience necessary products, but you are used to dealing with developers who have some familiarity with coding.

Again, nicely put.

The truth is that your products are not easy to use for the novice ... However the more you open up to the non developers the greater this problem becomes.

Exactement.

Maybe you need to lock the forums down.

A lot of manufacturers etc. do, for that very reason.

For an ISP like the one who co-opted your product, deny them all support. If they have to build and support the product themselves they will soon find it not worth the cost.

Yes. Unfortunately, the thing that makes people take notice the most, is cost. I do agree that an ISP that can't support is going to have some very irate customers.

my point is a little thinking and discussion on this issue may allow for something other than a knee jerk reaction to being taken to the cleaners from one bad guy.

Totally agreed. No point in going on and on and on about the situation and beating it to death ... we all understand what's happening, and we should all be discussing it together and trying to come up with some positive ideas ... like you have done here. There surely must be a way. People smart enough to do PHP coding, like everyone here, are surely also smart enough to figure this out. If we all kind of try to make one good suggestion for every five complaints or so, some really good ideas might come out.
I've already tried my good ideas and they just were not very well received.
Bye now.
