I just fired up my computer just now and was surprised to see that Webassist had released PowerCMS v2 - and after reading this posting, I was VERY surprised that WA had changed the licensing agreement to single site. That was the purchase killer for me. I develop sites and if I need to purchase a NEW copy for each client, it just isn't worth it to me....I would have to add the license cost in my bid.....so in answer to the question "will I upgrade to PowerCMS 2?" the answer is NO. Not even for my own site which runs v1. Requiring me to purchase a license for EACH site doesn't make me a developer but it does make me a WA software salesman . I don't buy site software that requires me to purchase a new license for each site. If the client isn't satisfied or backs out THEN I am stuck with absorbing the cost of software, not WA. Because WA doesn't give refunds........so my options seems clear cut to me. I can not support v2 and I won't "upgrade". There is TOO much FREE CMS software out there........I just thought Power CMS v1 was easier to use and support.....so now I can consider v1 is near its EOL and should look for its replacement (on my site).
