Powerstore Fails with 1+1 in the UK

esmsBeta Tester

Hello,

I asked 1+1 to provide PHP5 as default but they couldn't do this so I had to manually do it with the method pointed out by yourself and SOJO. Thanks.

I wonder why this is not mentioned in the comprehensive manual that comes with PS3 seeing as every 1+1 user will experience this; and as they are partnered with WA I think this very odd. At the very least, I suggest the missing file should be made available to make PS3 run. I realise this won't happen of course, but it would help other new 1+1 users that see the recommended message on the PS3 page.

I won't write much more at present as I expect it will only elicit the usual defensive and dismissive (perhaps aggressive) responses about how clear it is to use, and how good the manuals and resources are. If only all the necessary resources / information were in one manual rather than splintered all over the place in various PDFs and (nearly) related links to other websites. Listen, we would pay for this! I know it takes resources and time to produce them.

Anyway, I'll have a look at the program in more detail this evening to see how accurate the advertising claims are. After 2 months of wrestling, now it's running, I imagine it will be fine.

I'm genuinely sorry to respond like this. I say all this wearily from someone who has bought so much from WA over the past few years but now see WA as a company that seems to have lost the 'assist' ethos that attracted me to their products initially. So, as I say, I'm tired of the (shall we say often 'snooty') responses to paying customers who believed the sales pitch that these products will 'simply run' out of the box with no coding experience required. Reading responses to many dissatisfied customers sometimes makes you think that the response may as well have said: 'All you had to do is xyz. It's not in any of our docs but search the web for info'.

Just as a test WA, walk out of your building, grab someone off the street and ask them to set it up and run it. Genuinely, I hope it's just me who had problems.

I've asked before that clear, comprehensive videos are produced that walk you through the programs from start to finish should be produced. (We will pay for these). But the fierce, defensive responses just disillusion my view.

Actually, I'm glad you haven't. PLEASE DON'T MAKE ANY. When time allows, I will and I'll collect the revenue !!! And, I'll sell them on a PS3 designed store !!!!!!
