Add details from items table on order history page.

?? struggling with getting the correct data from the items table

do you mean you can add

orders.* to the select statement already created for the orderdetails history page so that it would read like this:

SELECT orders.*, orderdetails.* items.*
FROM orders INNER JOIN orderdetails ON orders.OrderID = orderdetails.DetailOrderID
WHERE orderdetails.DetailOrderID = WADAOrderID AND orders.OrderVisitorID = paramVisitorID

i've tried this but it just brings up an error message (unknown table). I've also tried a separate recordset but i think it needs a parameter or something, like the already created recordset above, the reason i say this is, at the moment the result is - it just lists the same item again and again so for product images, if you ordered item2, item6 and item5 they would show up as
item1.jpg
item1.jpg
item1.jpg

in this case it should be
item2.jpg
item6.jpg
item5.jpg

I still think the best solution would be if i could get ecart to transfer the data contained in the items table into the orderdetails table in exactly the same way it transfers the item name and item description into the orderdetails table when something is ordered.

If i could do this it would solve all my problems. i could use the existing orderdetails recordset (above) to add the extra data onto the history pages and i'd also be able to run DataAssist to give me a search form that could be used to search on orderID, the results could then have all the data from the orderdetails table which would include all the info that was transferred from the items table. Is this possible?

I know you can add more columns in the ecart object but i'd need to make them hidden so they can't be seen in the shopping cart. i could then access the store orderdetails behaviour, click on the lightning bolt, go to ecart and select the new column, but the question is, can you add more columns in the ecart so that they aren't visible to the customer. In other words, the details get transferred to the orderdetails table via the cart but the item info is not visible on the shopping cart page itself. I hope this makes sense.

If all else fails i suppose i could enter the information into the orderdetails table manually but this would take forever and wouldn't be very efficient. In fact it would be a bit pointless as i could just type out the info and email it to the customer. I need a better way really, a way to produce the info quickly but i could if i could get the relevant data stored in items to transfer to the orderdetails table when something is ordered. sorry, i'm probably asking the impossible but if there is a way it would be very helpful. pls let me know as soon as you can.
