Yes I did look at the link you posted. I've also deleted the cache file some times before when having issues with the WA extensions. The error I am getting now happens before entering dreamweaver. It happens at the installation state. Dreamweaver is shut down when I install the new extension.
I do not see any part that is relevant to the error message I am getting.

WA support will be back on Monday so you can ask them then. I'm just a volunteer.
I assume that I am not the first, nor the only or last person having this problem. That's why I posted here - maybe somebody had exactly the same problem with this new version on a mac.
