IE8 viewing issue?

yeah, it sounds like there is some bad formatting in some of the records that where entered. This can happen when you past directly from word.

To be able to fix the problem, you will need to be able to log into the PowerCMS Admin console and update the records to remove the bad formatting.

The only other option is to clean up the formatting directly in the Database.

To avoid the problem, when pasting from word, use the Paste From Word menu item in the iRite toolbar (clip board with "w" in front icon) make sure to check both of the options. This will clean up the word formatting that can cuase the page not to display in IE.
