Manipulating Category Titles

My client has almost 100 products, so I turned off the product items under each category in the leftColumn1. How can I turn on only the products that appear in the selected category as shown in the structure below?

Category 1 [not selected]
Category 2 [not selected]
Category 3 [selected]
Product 1
Product 2
Product 3
Category 4 [not selected]
Category 5 [not selected]

Secondly, how can I concatenate the selected category name to the
Product List
header on the Product_Results.php document?

I have DataAssist and eCart as well as PowerStore2...
