Retaining data when doing an update

Thread began 10/24/2009 4:44 pm by nancy | Last modified 10/26/2009 12:54 pm by nancy | 794 views | 1 replies

Retaining data when doing an update

I have successfully created Insert, Update, Results and Detail pages. I insert data using the Insert page > it displays in the Results and Detail. All good.
I have a mixture of input fields - textarea, text, radio buttons, checkboxes and files (images using DFP). When I use the update page only the textarea and text fields "echo" what is in the database, even though every field has the code to "echo".
I have to re-enter the data for the checkboxes, radio buttons and image files to get them to display after using the update page. By checking the database directly after an Update - The fields are now NULL unless I re-enter them.
It seems like I need an if statement, but the textarea and text don't need it.

What am I missing?
