Cleaning all sessions after checkout

Thread began 6/12/2009 1:43 pm by info275691 | Last modified 10/23/2009 11:45 am by info275691 | 4996 views | 30 replies

Actually what I need to do is to be able to regenerate a new session id at this point of the shopping sequence.

This is because I am using the long session id number to uniquely identify the current order in both the order_detail and order_summary tables.

Once an order has gone through using the current session id, the 'Thanks' page should then create a new session id so that if the customer wants to do some more shopping it will register as a new order. If this doesn't happen it is impossible to distinguish between the orders.

So my requirement is to regenerate the id (and it would be nice if the session variables for the customer's address etc. could be transferred over to the new session.

Is this possible? What would the code look like?

Many thanks
