hi to all
i orriginally set this thread going out of sheer frustration at not being able to do what i wanted to do. The main reason i could not do anything is i just did not have the experience and felt i couldnt get any experience because i didnt even know where to start. I have found the replies from webassist originally to be very measured and helpfull. i am not saying that i think their tutorials are perfect but i am also not saying that they dont serve as an introduction. I can follow along the tutorials and i can sort of work around some cliches in them but when i struggle is when i have tried to do something relative to the site i wish to build and i cant say that i can blame webassist for that instead i look at myself and try to learn more. knowing where to look was one of my problems and i found some help files to be buried where i was not looking. ( i need a better treasure map :))
i was very pleased to have contact from rob offering his time to help me - i feel that this is the true mark of a good forum when you have people willing to share their knowledge without passing judgement. a gentleman whoose help will be invaluable.
i feel this thread has really touched a nerve and both sides have fair arguments but i feel that once its all been digested the tutorials may well improve but so should peoples xpectations of products
lets have half full glasses guys from now on in. hopefully with constructive critisism and technical help we can all be good at what we do and have suceess
best wishes all
terry
