Sorry. I seemed to have touched a nerve here. Please remember, I didn't start this thread, I was simply adding my opinion to what others seem to be saying. And opinion is always driven by experience. I didn't make up the responses I posted earlier!

You also apparently didn't read the thread. You saw the title complaining about lack of help for beginners and piled on, ignoring the fact the the OP had been pointed to the locations of help for beginners.

the narration doesn't also state that you will have to possess a good knowledge of databases, PHP and mySQL to be able to get the products working.

It also doesn't state that you need a computer, Internet connection, web host, and know what a domain is. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect people that want to develop a dynamic site in PHP, to learn how to create and connect to a database. It's OK to expect people to learn HTML and CSS, but not OK to ask them to learn PHP and SQL? Why are they buying web tools if they don't want to learn how to create web sites?

I think if this was added to the advert movies then it would very simply and quickly alert php / mysql newbies that the product isn't for them.

Why try to discourage people from learning something new? The forum is full of people that thought they couldn't do it, only to discover a whole new world with a little help and encouragement. Who are you to decide that newbies are too stupid to learn dynamic development? Maybe you think car companies should put a warning in all of their commercials telling people that if they don't know how to drive, this product isn't for them.

And, in the meantime, I'll struggle on trying to get PS2 to work.

Posting questions in the PS2 forum would be far more productive than bashing the people helping in the DataAssist forum.
