The latest Dremweaver update breaks Bindings and Database Connectivity

Ian Sheldon

Seems have done the trick with the bindings Ray, thank you! But... a new issue that I've just spent 3 hours pulling my hair out over.

I have a page with a mysqli insert behaviour in it. It's been working fine, and today I just decided to test the site build so far. The signup page (insert behaviour) wasn't writing anything to the database but the redirect to the next page from within the behaviour was working fine.

I've uninstalled the extensions and reinstalled both the latest versions of mySQLi and Data Assist. I've changed my form settings and removed bindings to see if there was a problem with one of the form fields and its contents going to the database.

I thought it might have been some code I had updated elsewhere that had caused a knock on effect so spent a lot of time trying to get to the bottom of it. In the end, I decide to go to another site where I had old copies of the WA mysqli files, queryobj.php (v1.5) and rsobj.php (v2.18) and replaced the ones created by the latest mysqli version. Problem fixed.

This is the generated insert code that works with the above versions but not with the latest.

<?php
if (isset($_POST["btn_submit"]) || isset($_POST["btn_submit_x"])) {
$InsertQuery = new WA_MySQLi_Query($connectionname);
$InsertQuery->Action = "insert";
$InsertQuery->Table = "dbo_patient";
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_firstname", "s", "".(((isset($_POST["firstname"]))?$_POST["firstname"]:"")) ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_surname", "s", "".(((isset($_POST["surname"]))?$_POST["surname"]:"")) ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_email", "s", "".(((isset($_POST["email"]))?$_POST["email"]:"")) ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_password", "s", "".$pwd ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_phone", "s", "".(((isset($_POST["phone"]))?$_POST["phone"]:"")) ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_offers", "c", "".(((isset($_POST["offers"]))?$_POST["offers"]:"")) ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_verified", "i", "0", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_address1", "s", "".(((isset($_POST["address1"]))?$_POST["address1"]:"")) ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_address2", "s", "".(((isset($_POST["address2"]))?$_POST["address2"]:"")) ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_address3", "s", "".(((isset($_POST["address3"]))?$_POST["address3"]:"")) ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_address4", "s", "".(((isset($_POST["address4"]))?$_POST["address4"]:"")) ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_address5", "s", "".(((isset($_POST["address5"]))?$_POST["address5"]:"")) ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_zip", "s", "".(((isset($_POST["zip"]))?$_POST["zip"]:"")) ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_longitude", "s", "".$longitude ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_latitude", "s", "".$latitude ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_signupcode", "s", "".$salt ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_subscribed", "c", "".(((isset($_POST["offers"]))?$_POST["offers"]:"")) ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("patient_passcode", "s", "".$salt ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertQuery->saveInSession("var_userid");
$InsertQuery->execute();
$InsertGoTo = "php/_processnew_pat.php";
if (function_exists("rel2abs")) $InsertGoTo = $InsertGoTo?rel2abs($InsertGoTo,dirname(__FILE__)):"";
$InsertQuery->redirect($InsertGoTo);
}
?>

So, it looks like there could be a problem with the code in the new version that is stopping the information being written to the database?

Cheers
Ian
