Thread began 8/24/2009 3:58 am by neil.batchelor254136 | Last modified 10/07/2009 12:33 pm by neil.batchelor254136 | 9383 views | 19 replies

Allowing a user to only update records they input

I am close to tearing my hair out with this query now. Please please help me!!!!
I want to create an insert record (done) and after insert have an update link. (done)
The update link only allows the user to update the record they input prior.

I have created a column in the db table to record the user session id to link this to the user.

"So I have now associate the Listing User ID (one of the primary keys on the listings table) to the USER ID (one of the primary keys on the USER table), using the following code.
Data Assist Insert record, then lightening bolt, then in please select a server entity field: Session: Select USER_ID.
<?php echo $_SESSION['USER_ID']; ?>"

I have followed all the instructions to data.
I am not a expert developer.

I have created the query below and as directed deleted the variables that are not listed in the SQL statement.

Also as per your suggestion I: "if you are not going to use those variables in the SQL, then remove them from the variable list."

However it does not work?? I still get an error.

Eric has previously advised that I need to change the SPRINTF statement.
However I am totally lost here.
I do not know how to change the SPRINTF statement.

I have 9 insert record forms on the different pages so I need to have 9 corresponding update pages where only the previously inserted results are received.

Examples of the insert and update pages are attached or can be found at:

Many thanks.
