totally confused.. php 5.2 and greater are still supported by all of my hosting companies. In fact you can choose which version you want to use? To be backward compatible MOST php code would work with an exception of a very few like the date() function. Under the new php, if you get an error you can choose to either rewrite it or select a php version on your server that works with it. If your server only supports php7 then it is your suppliers problem because to lock out everything prior to a current version is just BAD BUSINESS. With that way of doing things, if php goes to 8 next week then you would have to redo all your code, doesn't make sense. :-( If you are using adobe dreamweaverCC and get that greater than version 9 error it is because you are trying to install an old extension. The current upgrade looks like it works up to the current version of dreamweaver
