An unidentified error has occured - Dynamic MySQLi Connection

Password was my problem....

Although this is an old post - just an FYI to anyone who, like me, has recently purchased the MySQLi Server Behaviors, and in looking for a solution to the "An unidentified error has occurred" when trying to set up a connection to the MySQL server. This solution may already be well known... my apologies if so....

In trying to be security minded, I usually allow the host provider's password generator to provide a very secure password for the MySQL database, which usually consists of special characters as well as numbers and letters. That was the problem for me.

The solution was to use only numbers and letters as the password. I changed it on the database server, then used it in the DW extension, and connected without error.
