I started with ADDT. They left the building. Came over to WA. Spend lots of money and time. Though sometimes buggy, it worked. Now PHP is moving on to 7, I want to upgrade my hosting server to 7. DW let go of the server behaviours and WA still make use of deprecated functions in DW.

ADDT , I remember those daze or was it my ADD? Kidding...

The other downside possibility is when Adobe buys up Developers and then kills off the product. Makes no sense and only drives people to other IDEs.

WebAssist has been a great resource to save development time. Hopefully Ray is able to grow his company and continue to produce helpful Extensions that help the Dev Community.

Extensions tied into Eclipse (Zend) would be cool. Never liked Adobe due to their culling so many nice features and trying to force the direction of the people that use there software. Already using Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo, even while continuing my CC Subscription. Get me an Affinity Web Developer app and WA Behaviours and Adobe would be removed from my tool kit.
